‘JO Anime Review — Red Garden
| This is JesuOtaku's review of Red Garden. Red Garden is produced by Gonzo and available from Funimation. This review is unofficial and entirely silly to boot. All media is used for purposes of review and commentary under terms of fair use. Software I employ, if you're curious: Sony Vegas for editing. It's pretty smexy. I also use AutoGK and various AVS programs for encoding and converting different sources. They're pretty cool, too. Okay...I could be totally wrong on this, maybe totally arrogant to even say this, buuuut...this feels like one of my best reviews. I'm really happy with how it turned out. There's nothing I would change. This is extremely rare. So I hope that means it turned out unnaturally well! I really did enjoy Red Garden...to an extent. I make a lot of merciless fun of it, don't I? Still, I just don't see many anime that are this honest about high school behavior and daily life. The characters were really solid in this anime...the plot was a bit RETARDED a lot of the time, but I guess that's what happens when urban drama specialists try to write fantasy? I liked Claire most out of the girls, but Rachel was pretty entertaining to watch, witchy though she could be. Above all, though, I loved watching slimy, suave Herve. So many reasons he should be sympathetic, so many times he just sweeps that under the rug and becomes a d-bag. Besides his personality, though, it was fun hearing him fly off the handle and get dramatic, but that was true of ANY character ... |
